Half-decent on odd controls, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 8, Finish. Problems on 2 turning (+3min) the wrong direction, then see-sawing back and forth close to 4 (+6-7min), a large detour to 6 (+6-7min, the straight-line route choice is too hard).

Just before #2 I found a wrong control and circled back when just 50m forward was the right thing to do, probably +5 min or so.
Then down from #7 in completely the wrong direction and another +5 min or so.

Itärastit Latokartano, 7k
Autumn-season 2017 opening for Itärastit. Choosing where to go up or down the steep hill to hit the control is always hard, here problems at #6, #7, and #13. The edges of the map both around #10 in the south and around #15 in the north are fairly simply drawn and in need of an update. Warm +22 C and humid.
Iltarastit Luukki, 7k
Time to start the autumn orienteering season - itärastit starts this week, and there are three firmaliiga events starting next tuesday.
OK going on #1-#4, then quite challenging legs and controls on #5-#7. Had no good plan for finding #10, just wandering in the right direction, when a clearer plan via the stone lower down the hill would have been better.
Itärastit Salmenkallio
About +11 to +13C with a cold-ish wind. After the first start at 11:00 they were out of maps by 12:00 - thus this less than ideal hand-drawn map. Quite good from the start towards the south, but then a few mistakes, J-curves and loops towards the end. I'm happy this course didn't have controls in the top left corner which has way too many map symbols... Around 65 min with maybe 10 min of mistakes.
Kiintorastit Pirttibacka
4.9 km course at an easy pace. A strange U-turn halfway between 89-99. Not so sure about going west out of 39, should have gone north maybe..
Itärastit Latokaski, B 5km
Warm +18C. Quite easy course/map.
#4 is the best split (top-ten), about 2/3rds along paths and then up the hill to the control. #9 is the worst split, didn't find a clear path through the field and the lack of fitness sets in towards the end of the course. 20th out of about 85 overall.
Firmaliiga Haukkalampi E-baana
Around a 2km walk from the parking-lot to the start and then 2km back again from the finish. OK weather around +10 to +12C maybe.
A decent run on this shorter E-course - in contrast to a mediocre run on the long course last week. Maybe a bit too close to the lake towards #2. The only major mistake was at #5 where I registered one big stone as the wrong one and looked north-east instead of south-west for the control. Also the area around #7 was much flatter than I expected from reading the map. By accident I crossed the forbidden area between #7 and #8 ;(
Firmaliiga Salmi B-baana
Cold around +5C or so with the occasional shower of snow or light hale!
Bad mistake to start off at #1, finding the first control for some other course instead. A bit too low towards #2, then quite safe along roads to #3. A small J-bend to a well-hidden #10. The firmaliiga B-course is maybe a bit too difficult...
