Critical Bikeride, April 2012
Hey I'm trying the OpenStreetMap plugin for wordpress. It should allow showing maps, places, and GPX-tracks in the blog.
They did have a critical bikeride in March already this year, but it was quite snowy and rainy so I didn't participate.
Today there were 130-140 participants.
Last year I think I participated in these events to raise awareness for bicycling four times: June, August, September, and October.

Critical Mass, 2011 September
Some 260 riders and a route along länsiväylä, the main motorway in to Helsinki from the west. Bikes on the motorway has prompted a number of news-stories:

Critical mass - August
Another critical bike-ride to raise awareness for cyclists in the city.
Heard at the front of the peloton: (Fixie-dude to motorcycle-police) Vauhtia! Tääl on kylmä! (translated: More speed! It's cold!). Which wasn't surprising, since it was raining and the police-bike kept a pace of 12 km/h meaning the 10k route took about 47 minutes to complete.
Critical Bikeride
This is a once a month bike-ride through the city centre to raise awareness for bikers. It is nice to ride in the middle of the street with police escort and all other traffic just standing by 🙂
Pics from one month earlier on 10 May.
After physical exercise one must take care of re-hydration:
